Have you ever been reading a book and arrived at the bottom of the page and realised you will have to reread it as you haven’t absorbed any of the information? Or even been driving along the motorway and suddenly realised your not fully concentrating? We all enter these trance-like states 50-200 times a day. Hypnotherapy is simply purposefully accessing these states so as to encourage the brain to bring about the positive changes we are asking it to implement, without the conscious mind getting in our way and analysing every thought.
This trance-like statue is a natural and safe state to be in. You are not asleep but are simply deeply relaxed. I will help you access this state so as to encourage the change that we have discussed together. Being at home, having this therapy, means that you are already more than likely comfortable and your body knows that it can relax.
I am often asked if online hypnotherapy is just as effective as working face-to-face. Does it even work online?!
The answer is, yes. Sometimes remote hypnotherapy can even be more beneficial and more effective. When you are in your most comfortable space, surrounded by your own possessions, you are frequently more relaxed than in someone else’s space.
Online hypnotherapy follows the same approach as face-to-face sessions and will make life easier if finding time to fit sessions in, considering travel or parking, is going to be an issue. It also means that once you find a therapist you like, you can maintain a relationship regardless of where you are in the world.
Booking a 20 minute consultation means that there is an opportunity for us to establish a connection and for you to see how comfortable the process is. All that is needed is a quiet space where you feel comfortable to be able to relax and speak at ease.
Absolutely. In fact, it has now been proven that, whether it be online or in person, there is no difference in how the client responds to hypnotherapy. There is actually now evidence to suggest that therapy can be more effective when accessed from the comfort of home as the client feels secure and therefore more susceptible to subtle suggestions of change.
Once we have agreed a mutually beneficial time for our first session, or you have booked via the website, I will send out a client form which will explain that all you will need is a quiet space where you can feel comfortable.
I will then send out a Zoom link before the session which you will just have to click on when the time comes. All I ask is that your phone is on silent.
The first 20 minutes of each session will focus on solution focused talking therapy where I will encourage you to consider new ideas and see how you feel moving forward with them. The rest of our time together will be where I guide you into a trance-like state where you feel comfortable and relaxed - where you are more responsive to suggestion. The final few minutes of the session will end in a grounding chat where we will focus on progress and I will explain how I will provide you with a unique recording, to encourage practice in between sessions.

Georgina has ten years experience teaching in Montessori and Primary education before deciding to take her career further and train as a hypnotherapist.
Georgina specialises in different and far-reaching techniques of therapy, some of which include Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). This means that she is qualified in six different areas of therapy so as to allow a truly individual approach.
